32. Indian Wolf, by Chambal River, Uttar Pradesh
The peninsular Indian Wolf (Canis indica), originally thought to be a
subspecies of the Grey Wolf (Canis lupus pallipes), has now been
found to be genetically different from the rest of the wolves and dogs
of the world from which it likely diverged about 400,000 years ago.
